Geek-Out At The Anime Detour In Minneapolis

When I was a kid, the Japanese cartoons known as “Anime” were the big thing. Whether it was Poke’mon, Yu-gi-oh, Beyblade, or anything else, it seemed like my friends and I were always spending our time watching the shows and buying the toys and cards that correlated with the series.

As a matter of fact, the Yu-gi-oh card game is still a rather popular deal with the millennials in my family, and I still occasionally play myself. I have most of the cards that I collected from my days as a kid and when my cousins and brothers get together to hang out on the weekends, the occasional game of Yu-gi-oh certainly isn’t out of the question.

With the exception of that, I left my Anime days in my childhood, but I still know a lot of people (including my little brothers) who have remained fans of the genre well into their teens.

If you or someone you know is a follower of these shows or games, you might be interested in the Anime Detour at The Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis, from April 6^th – April 8th. The Anime Detour is a convention run by fans for fans of Japanese animation, manga (comics), videogames and culture. The cost for attending is only $50 for the whole weekend.
