I know - driving down to the Mall of America can be a pain for some people.  But - if youi want to make a weekend of it, bring the family and take in all of the fun things that are involved with the mall other than shopping.  There really is something for everyone there, plus some great hotels nearby - the Wolf Lodge for one, with the indoor water park.  Score!

If you love Chicago Deep dish pizza, there is another location of Giordano's opening up in the Mall of America.  They do have another location in Richfield, which isn't too far away from the Mall. They did have a location in Minneapolis, but that one didn't make it through the pandemic.  They closed in 2020 and did not reopen.

This announcement of a (now) second location was announced yesterday.  The location will be on the 3rd floor, next to most of the other restaurants.

FROM MOA VIA KSTP

The mall writes: "Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024, Giordano’s remains rooted in its Chicago heritage while thoughtfully expanding across the country. The menu goes beyond its iconic deep-dish pizza to feature a full lineup of Italian-inspired classics including pastas, salads, sandwiches, and appetizers, all crafted with the same attention to quality that has defined the brand since its founding. "

So if you are spending time at the Mall of America, and you want to indulge in some deep dish pizza, this will hopefully be open next Spring.  Spring of 2026. Unfortunately it will not be open for this year's holiday shopping, but if you want to do some summer shopping next Spring - you will have some deep dish 'za available.  That is, if all goes well.  Right now, that is when they are expecting to be able to open.
