ST. CLOUD -- Think you have what it takes to play semi-pro football? If so, the Granite City Renegades want to see your skills.

The team is holding try outs Saturday at North Side Park in Sartell for their upcoming season.

Team Owner Brett Weaver says try outs bring many players with different skill sets and ages.

"Some players are fresh out of high school, we have guys who have played semi-pro for 10 years, guys out of college or just entering college. We have a wide range."

Weaver says they are looking to fill multiple positions and usually average about 50 players per year.

Besides playing football he expects his players to be role models in the community.

"Guys don't just get to play football for us, they have to show they want to grow. They have to build the team, the organization and the community they live in to make it a better place."

This will be the 8th season for the Renegades. There is a $15 fee to try out and you need to be at the field by 12:30 p.m.

The Granite City Renegades play their home games at Clemens Stadium at St. John's University.
