This house has been a topic of conversation for years.  Originally owned by a man who was an anesthesiologist at the St. Cloud hospital.  He traveled a lot and wanted to bring some of what he loved about the ocean to the St. Cloud area.  He was also a huge fan of the band Godsmack and added some of those elements into his home decor as well.

There were also some very questionable decor elements and if you can call them amenities in the home.  Such as a six person grotto shower.  I have only one idea why anyone would need a six person shower in their home.  But I'll leave that up to you to figure out.

The home was also featured on HGTV's "Ugliest Homes in America" and won for this region, but did not win for the remodel.  The remodel budget for the show was $150.000 and I don't think that was enough to do everything that would need to be done to bring this home up to the standards of most potential buyers.

So, the people who bought the home have done a lot to it.  They have changed so much, and a lot of the "weird" has been removed.  But not all of it.  There are still some elements that have been left, but things like the six person shower and the jungle home gym have been removed.  The home gym is still there, but the crazy jungle theme and pyramid have been removed.

The listing is brokered by Central MN Realty, and has been on the market for 187 days. The asking price is $599,000 from a recent price drop.

The home does have some very nice features such as a beautiful outdoor area with a gorgeous pool and guest house/pool house.  It sits right on the Mississippi with great views of the river.  It also has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.  You can check out the pictures of the upgrades and remodel here.  The outside of the home has not been updated other than the removal of the statue of Poseidon that was out front and also the fake palm trees are gone.

Maybe this home is now for you.. or someone you know.
