Is Minnesota One of the Pet Friendliest States?
There are a lot of things Minnesotan’s love. Their sports teams. Their beer. Their outdoor hobbies. Oh, and their pets. You don’t have to live here long to see that this is a state that cares about the furry members of our families.
My wife and I were surprised when we moved to Minnesota last year that a good majority of rental properties, we looked at were pet friendly.
That’s why I wasn’t surprised at all by a study I received yesterday from HireAHelper that said Minnesota is the 2nd most pet friendly state in America.
The study analyzed rental listings across the 100 most populated cities in the country for allowing pets into a rental unit.
The study says that Minnesota is the #1 cat friendly state in the country with nearly 83% of rental units allowing cats to stay. The state dropped down a bit in the top 10 when it comes to allowing dogs to be included in a rental, with 79.3% of the rentals saying it’s ok.
Overall, Minnesota trailed only Colorado in allowing pets in rental units, with 84.4% allowing for cats and/or dogs.
The other states in the Top 5 were North Carolina, Washington and Texas. As a whole, the U.S. is pretty open to renters having pets, with just over 73% of the units giving a green light to our four-legged friends.
America differs from Minnesota on their preference of pets they would like in their rental property, with more units allowing dogs over cats.
Minnesota is just one of twelve states that favors kitties.
