Is THIS the Best Bloody Mary in Minnesota? It Could Be
Bloody Marys. People tend to take pride in their recipes for this drink. It's usually a morning drink to get you going into a day of day drinking, or something after the evening drinkies. Also, Bloody Marys can sometimes have some great "groceries" added on a skewer to your Bloody Mary. The usual suspects include cheese and meet. Some places can get very creative with those things... shrimp, chicken wings, even a hamburger or a piece of pizza. I mean, sometimes you have to wonder how the glass doesn't tip over.
And if you are into the "groceries" do you care what the actual drink tastes like? Maybe it's all about the extra food.
I'm not a huge Bloody Mary person. They all taste basically the same to me... until now.
There is a little bar in Brainerd called CC's Bar. And it just might be the best Bloody Mary I have ever had. And the "groceries" were minimal. Just a pickle, an olive, and a slice of bacon. Which was delicious, by the way. Oh, and a lime.
Also - it was not at Jack Pine Brewery... that was just the glass.
The Bloody Mary itself was made with a house recipe, and did include Zing Zang Bloody Mary mix, but there were a lot of other ingredients added to make it "their own". But what really made it good was the maple bacon "moonshine". Delicious! That maple flavor really just took the drink to another level.
I'm still a one and one Bloody Mary person, but if you have to choose to have just one, might I suggest heading to CC's for that "one" Bloody. Mmm Mmmm.
