Winter Walleye Limit For Minnesota’s Lake Mille Lacs Revealed
If you have the itch for some hardwater fishing, you aren't alone, and with a predicted cold snap on the way, it won't be long until you start to see people out on our area lakes, dropping in a line, and looking to make some memories. The Minnesota DNR just released the winter walleye limits for Lake Mille Lacs, and for those interested in fishing for walleye, the news is the same as last year.
How Many Walleye Can You Keep From Mille Lacs This Winter?
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources unveiled the winter walleye number that you are allowed to keep this year on Lake Mille Lacs, and not much is changing. According to the DNR:

"The walleye limit for ice fishing season on Mille Lacs Lake will remain at three fish longer than 17 inches, only one of which can be longer than 20 inches."
The DNR also stated in the online release that the walleye numbers on the Central Minnesota lake were "trending in a good direction".
What Are The Winter Limits For Other Mille Lacs Fish?
The Minnesota DNR also announced the limit numbers for other fish in the lake, including Yellow Perch. Here are the other limits that were announced yesterday:
Yellow Perch: 10 daily and possession limit
Northern Pike: possession increases from 3 to 5 fish, and they are limited to a length of 30 inches.
When Do The Winter Regulations Kick In?
The winter limits kick in on December 1st for walleye, yellow perch, and northern pike. The end of the winter limits are all different depending on the species. For walleye, the end date is February 22nd, yellow perch is May 8th, and the northern pike restrictions run through March 31st.
