If you are not heading out to celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day with the opening of turkey hunting season in Minnesota, The Weekender is here with some fun ideas. Fall is really starting to gear up with fun festivals and events all around Minnesota and The Weekender has you covered with outdoor and indoor activities and some pet-themed fun too. While you are out have some chocolate milk to celebrate Chocolate Milk Day on Friday, and have an extra large latte on Sunday for National Coffee Day. Harvest Fest

It is fun for the whole family at the Historic Harvest Fest at the Stearns History museum. They will have pumpkin painting, old-style carnival games, a petting zoo (with Llamas), an apple cider bar, a cake walk and so much more. The event is FREE to attend.

It is the first-ever fly-in for the St. Cloud Airport. Stop in and check out all the planes, learn about flight school, and get to know local pilots. Plus there will be chili for purchase for $5, and airplane rides for $50. FREE to attend.

Craft for Critters Festival
St. Cloud
Support a good cause at this family-friendly event. There will be local artisans and crafters with all sorts of goods. For the kids, they will have a bounce house, plus bingo, raffle, door prizes, and you can adopt a new forever furry friend. FREE to Attend.

Folk 2 Folks
St. Cloud
Check out a diverse lineup of artists celebrating creativity and “Where we come from.” There will be poetry, music, art, and storytelling all emceed by comedian Comrade Tripp. Some of the art featured includes dot painting, cowboy poetry and comedic monologues. The event is FREE to attend but if you want to participate in an artist-facilitated workshop you need to register beforehand. The event will be held in the Mississippi Room at the Great River Regional Library in St. Cloud.

Cat Fancier CFA Cat Show
St. Paul
There is a little something for everyone at the 91^st annual CFA Cat Show. People can enjoy a range of activities from a stuffed animal contest, to a wide range of unique vendors offering products for cats and their humans like cat beds and toys to cat-themed clothing, jewelry, and services from the best cat photographer in the country. New this year is the Feline Agility contest, watch in awe as cats showcase their speed, agility, and playfulness on a specially designed obstacle course. Cat lovers can expect to see popular breeds like Sphynx, curly-coated Rex, majestic Maine Coons, luxurious Persians, and elegant Siamese. Household pets are also welcome to compete for a chance to be among the top 10 spots. $12 for Adults, $8 for Seniors and Children ages 4-11. A family 4-pack is $30.
