If you are not heading out to celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day with the opening of turkey hunting season in Minnesota, The Weekender is here with some fun ideas. St. CloudCheck out a diverse lineup of artists celebrating creativity and “Where we come from.” There will be poetry, music, art, and storytelling all emceed by comedian Comrade Tripp. Some of the art featured includes dot painting, cowboy poetry and comedic monologues. The event is FREE to attend but if you want to participate in an artist-facilitated workshop you need to register beforehand. The event will be held in the Mississippi Room at the Great River Regional Library in St. Cloud.

People can enjoy a range of activities from a stuffed animal contest, to a wide range of unique vendors offering products for cats and their humans like cat beds and toys to cat-themed clothing, jewelry, and services from the best cat photographer in the country. New this year is the Feline Agility contest, watch in awe as cats showcase their speed, agility, and playfulness on a specially designed obstacle course. Cat lovers can expect to see popular breeds like Sphynx, curly-coated Rex, majestic Maine Coons, luxurious Persians, and elegant Siamese. Household pets are also welcome to compete for a chance to be among the top 10 spots. $12 for Adults, $8 for Seniors and Children ages 4-11. A family 4-pack is $30.
