Reader's Digest put out a list of the most gorgeous waterfalls in every state, and now I suddenly want to go on a full-on road trip. Naturally, I’m starting with Minnesota's pick even though I haven’t actually been there.. yet!
That said, depending on where you are in the state, the picks from Wisconsin and Iowa might actually be closer.

Reader's Digest's pick for most gorgeous in Iowa is Lake Macbride Waterfall, which they say is technically a spillway. The water in this pretty spot cascades over rocks from Lake Macbride to the Iowa River. You can walk or kayak to the falls.
As for Wisconsin, they went big, literally. Big Manitou Falls in Pattison State Park is the tallest in the state at a roaring 165 feet. You’ll probably hear it before you see it. And once you do, there’s plenty of trail to wander or even make your way down to the base.
And speaking of tallest - Minnesota’s got a towering beauty of its own, plunging an impressive 120 feet. According to Reader’s Digest, it also takes the crown as the most gorgeous in all of Minnesota.
High Falls is at Grand Portage State Park tucked way up in the northeastern corner of Minnesota, it’s so close to Canada you might catch a hint of maple syrup in the air.
