ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud area non-profit has awarded over $50,000 in education-related grants this spring.

District 742’s Local Education Activities Foundation (LEAF) has officially announced the recipients of their spring 2022 grants.

Spring activity funds received over $23,000 to support student participation in all fine arts, academic, and athletics programs. More than $16,000 has been awarded to special programs including a homeless student fund, the adopt-a-classroom program, PAKRAT, and PAKCAT. The district’s Chinese and Spanish Immersion programs were awarded over $6,000.

Additional funds went to photo contests at Apollo and Tech high schools, athletic game program grants, and other donor flow-through grants.

The spring grants join the more than $193,000 given out in the fall for a total of over $244,000 awarded this school year. Since 1996, LEAF has donated over $2.6 million to different programs within the St. Cloud Area School District.
