If I didn't know any better I'd have to say The Doobie Brothers have been around since the beginning of the classic rock era and I'll tell you why.

The Doobie Brothers were formed in 1970 and since then have sold 40 Million albums and probably put 40 million miles on the road touring as well. Success kicked in right off the bat for the band, even to this date they're a band you have to see. (F.Y.I.  no-one in the band is named Doobie and none of them are brothers).

In 1976 they shifted gears by bringing in Michael McDonald as the new front man (vocalist), with that move Michael replaced Tom Johnston as the primary yet even with that move they managed to maintain a high level of success.

Bottom line is success has never been an issue for this classic band even being out of the limelight for five years between 1982-1987.

A chronicle of the band if there ever was one is titled, 'Let the Music Play - The Story of the Doobie Brothers.' It will take you back to the beginning to the present and is loaded with footage from the archives,as well as; interviews. There is also nine 'live' performances that include, "Black Water", "China Grove", and the song of songs that was the catalyst of the whole thing "Listen to the Music."

I have seen them twice with both Michael and Tom as lead vocalists and never disappointed, you can catch them perform on April 5th at the Shooting star Casino (Mahnomen,Mn.) and on April 6th in Red Wing, Mn. at the Treasure Island Resort and Casino.

'Let The Music Play - The Story of the Doobie Brothers'  is available on DVD and Blu-Ray and has more than two hours of greatness of a band that will have you craving more.
