Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham has sold his compound in Brentwood, Calif., after three months on the market.

The buyers paid $28 million, less than Buckingham's asking price of $29.5 million.

The news comes via the Los Angeles Times, which notes that Buckingham and his wife Kristen bought the 1.2-acre double lot in 2004 for $6.6 million and, three years later, built a 10,000-square-foot house on it.

The original listing, held by Jeff Hyland of Hilton & Hyland and Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, said the gated compound evokes the European countryside and is "extremely private and offers an enchanting setting with lushly landscaped grounds, captivating facade and old-world ambiance and authenticity."

It contains eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, with the master suite comprising one entire wing of the main floor. The home also includes a recording studio built into the garage, a billiard room and formal living and dining rooms. The interiors, designed by Kristen, include white beamed ceilings, herringbone floors, a spiral staircase and a "gourmet farmhouse-style kitchen with professional appliances."

The outside contains numerous gardens and patios, an indoor-outdoor living room, gym, guest house, fireplace, barbecue pit and a pool complete with a poolhouse.

Buckingham sold another home in Brentwood for $19 million in January 2018. The Buckinghams have also been building another house in Brentwood for the past two years.

Back in May, Buckingham performed for the first time in public since his heart surgery in February, when he played "Landslide" at his daughter's high school graduation. "Last night was epic," Kristen tweeted. "First time I’ve seen Lindsey play in the last four months, all the while Leelee ending her high school career. And she sings a little 'Landslide' with her dad. I cried, I’ll admit it. Never know what’s ahead so enjoy the moment."
