This was in question, and yet I think we all kind of knew that Lindsey Vonn would be able to qualify for the 2026 Olympics.

NATIVE MINNESOTAN TRAINED AND QUALIFIED FOR THE 2026 GAMES

Lindsey Vonn, who is a native Minnesotan, and grew up skiing on Buck Hill in Burnesville, will be representing the United States on Team USA for the Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.  To be more specific, the Alpine downhill ski events will be held in Milano Corina.

WHY WAS HER PARTICIPATION IN QUESTION

The reason her involvement was in question was mostly because of her age.  Vonn is 41, and her last Olympics was the 2018 games. And while we might not think that is old, it is when it comes to many of the physical sports involved in the Olympics.  Younger and faster, as they say.  BUT Vonn has been known to push beyond the boundries through surgery, which gave her some physical limitations that she pushed through, and kept training, which led here here to the 2026 Olympics.  She qualified!!  That is awesome just in itself.  And now, can she make it on the podium again?

WHAT ARE THE SPEEDS THAT THE SKIIERS CAN REACH IN DOWNHILL

Sometimes with the Olympic games I need to find someone to root for in order to hold my attention.  But I'm so amazed at the talent that these athletes have.  In Alpine downhill skiing, elite skiiers can reach speeds of 70-90mph.  That is crazy!!  And also fun to watch.

LET'S ALL WATCH LINDSEY VONN THIS FEBRUARY

I for one am really hoping that she does well, and makes it onto that podium and medals.  If she won the gold that would be absolutely amazing, and I'm sure that is what she would like... as any athlete wants, but any medal would be awesome.

GO LINDSEY!
