Remember making those late night Taco Bell runs back in the 90s, and 80s for some of you.  Maybe even in the earlier decades like the 60s and 70s.  To be honest, I didn't know Taco Bell existed in those earlier decades, but I was definitely a fan in the 90s.

There are some menu items that were extremely popular depending on which decade you are talking about. And now, Taco Bell is trying something nostalgic.  They are bringing back the most popular menu item from each decade that has been since removed.

They are starting with the 60s and moving through each decade up to the early 2000s.

From Taco Bell's website, they list which food item was the most popular for each decade.  The idea is to bring back the favorites to people who remember them, and also to introduce them to a new group of people who may have never tried them.  Until now.

From the 60s - It's the Tostada

From the 70s - It's the Green Burrito

From the 80s - It's the Meximelt

From the 90s - It's the Beef Gordita Supreme

From the early 2000s - It's the Caramel Apple Empanada

These items are going to first be tested in California, then moved nationwide later this year.  It would be great if at some point these tests that come along every now and again would start in the midwest.  Wouldn't that be a fun thing?  Instead we generally need to wait a few months until people on the coasts have approved the item; whatever it is.

When they do finally make an appearance here in the Midwest, they will be around for just a limited time, while supplies last.  When this is happen exactly has not been confirmed.  Taco Bell has stated that more information and a timeline will be coming soon.
