Love Black Coffee? You Just Might Be a Psychopath!
The Bellamy Brothers assured me that "Too Much is Not Enough". Turns out they literally meant "love" instead of my "love of black-like-my-soul coffee". Brutal.
If you're like me and prefer your coffee untainted by sugar and cream, I've got bad news for us.
Austrian Study Claims That Black Coffee Drinkers Are Nuts
It gets tougher and tougher to find studies that make me look like a genius: the University of Innsbruck in Austria (no AL) thinks black coffee drinkers are more likely to by psychopaths and anti-social. They published their sacrilegious findings in Appetite.
Awe, beans.
The researchers studied the taste preferences of 1000 people and found those that preferred flavors bitter like my outlook on life were more likely to have personalities described as "...dark, psychopathic, narcissistic, and sadistic."
Did they at least make sure people were drinking good black coffee?
Coffee in general tends to lift your mood, improve brain function, and has even been shown to decrease risk for some cancers. And coffee minus the cream and sugar gives you the benefits without the extra calories. It just might also mean you're batsh*t crazy.
Damn, dude. Save some crazy for the rest of us...
Fortunately the study was small and the results were self-reported (although who self-reports as a psychopath?), so the researchers may have just stumbled upon a group of black coffee-drinking nutjobs.
One can join them hope.
