I had to double-take my computer screen when I saw one of the newest stores at the Mall of America yesterday afternoon. The mall recently welcomed a new men's retailer named, Chubbies. Cue the sophomoric jokes.

While the mall has opened its retail doors to Chubbies, what do people need to know about the funny-sounding store? Believe it or not, with Chubbies at the MOA, it marked the company's first store to open in Minnesota and the Midwest, according to a Mall of America press release.

The store specializes in "shorts and swim trunks, pants and polos, shirts, and fun seasonal styles. From bold and bright to relaxed and neutral, shoppers will be able to find high-quality everyday apparel in a range of colors, patterns, and sizes. The new store will also feature the brand’s kids collection, including boys and toddler swim and casual styles, providing plenty of options for family matching."

The company, which was founded back in 2011, started as a company that designed and made casual shorts, before branching off into other types of clothing like swim trunks, shirts, etc.

Chubbies at the MOA may have had a surprise 49er visit while the team was in town for the game on Sunday, as one of their players has a collaborative deal in place with the company.

George Kittle himself has training shorts with the oddly named company, you can see that collection here.

(No idea if he stopped in, but the MOA is a popular destination for visiting teams)

If you are interested in checking out Chubbies at the MOA, you can find them on the first floor, on the south side of the mall. (I'm done with the teen-humor now)
