*FREED'M SCREECH* What's more 'Merican than baseball and apple pie? If you're 'Merica Measuring using density of Bald Eagle population, then you need not look any further than Minnesota.

We could've used this statistic a month (plus a day) ago, but better late (and correct) than never, I guess.

Minnesota Leads Nation in Key Bald Eagle Statistic

I mean, it's key if you really, really, REALLY care about this kind of thing. Alaska leads the nation in total Bald Eagle population (30,000), with Minnesota coming in second with 9,800 Freed'm Raptors.

Time for some Scott Steiner Math.

Now take those numbers and factor in total land mass. Alaska is about 8 times bigger than Minnesota, while only having a bit over 3 times as many Bald Eagles. Minnesota has approximately 0.11 Bald Eagles Per Square Mile (BEPSM), while Alaska checks-in with only 0.045 BEPSM.

Sad.

Then Again...

Alaska does whoop us with 9.38 Bald Eagles Per Named Lake (BEPNL). Minnesota - with our 10,000+ lakes - can only muster 0.98 BEPNL.

That just means that each Feathered Lord of Freed'm gets more lake to Freedomize instead of having to share it.  As it should be.

We rule!
