Mick Taylor to Join Ronnie Wood at Bluesfest
The Ronnie Wood Band's finale at BluesFest in London next month will include an appearance by Mick Taylor, who held down the guitar-player role in the Rolling Stone before Wood replaced him in 1975. Wood and group will pay tribute to the late Jimmy Reed during their Nov. 1 set at the Royal Albert Hall, where BluesFest runs from Oct. 29-Nov. 1.
The Stones made the announcement on their website this morning, noting that Taylor has been added as a member of Wood's band for the show. It's not clear if Taylor will play the entire set or just a few of the legendary bluesman's songs, like 'Baby, What You Want Me to Do,' 'Bright Lights, Big City' and 'Big Boss Man.'
The Ronnie Wood Band was announced as the final performers for the festival last month. Van Morrison, Robert Plant and the Tedeschi Trucks Band will also perform. Taylor reunited with the Rolling Stones a few times during their 50 and Counting Tour over the past year.
Tickets for several BluesFest shows, including the Ronnie Wood Band's finale, are still available at the BluesFest website.
