Doesn't everyone kind of love a county fair?  Some of them are free, which is even better.  Some of them have some great National artists that come and perform, while others have some awesome local talent that will fill a beer garden stage.  Also - the beer garden.  For some reason a beer garden at either a county fair or a town street dance, or whatever the case is, they always seem more fun.  You generally run into people that you haven't seen probably since the last county fair.  It's fun.

IT'S TIME TO START THINKING ABOUT COUNTY FAIRS IN MINNESOTA

Usually I associate county fairs with the middle to end of summer.  I was surprised to find out that some counties do have their county fairs starting up in June.

This way, if you are someone who loves to go to any and all county fairs, this one is for you.

Starting June 11th though the 13th is the Hennepin County Fair held at the Corcoran Lion's Park.

I have never been to the Hennepin County fair.  Just because it's Hennepin County, I figure that it's huge.  That might not be the case.  If you have entires at the fair that need to be judged, that happens the 9th and 10th leading up to the official fair opening on the 11th.  After that, there are all the normal county fair events for the whole family. There are crafts, baked goods, bounce houses for the kids, bingo and more!

June 24th through the 27th is the Cass County Fair held in Pine River.  Pine River is a small town near Brainerd.  Admission and the music stage are free.

Relax to entertainment on the free stage, take in a grand stand event or stroll through the midway and vendors booths. The beer gardens are back again this year and are sponsored by the Pine River American Legion. Additional events include ATV Fun Run, Baja Races, Horse Show, Kids games and so much more!

THERE IS A COUNTY FAIR JUST ABOUT EVERY WEEK DURING THE SUMMERTIME

After June, there is a county fair or two every week during July, and those continue into August.  You can get the full schedule with activities and what to expect on the Minnesota County Fair guide.

Happy Minnesota Summer!
