Everyone knows that if you pass a school bus with it's lights flashing and arm extended and the cops catch you, you're going to get fined $300 bucks. But now the Minnesota Department of Public Safety have upped the fine to $500 bucks as of yesterday morning. Sadly in the last six years, police officers across Minnesota have written nearly 9,000 tickets for stop arm violations. They hope that with this increase in the fine, that it will help motorist pay more attention to the buses.
So unless you have an extra $500 dollars to pay off this fine, keep an eye out for those buses this year.
