Dancing with the Stars on ABC is set to start it's new season on September 20th.  This year Minnesota's own Olympic Gold Medalist Suni Lee will be one of the contestants.  No word on who she will be paired with, but she said she's pretty excited to be on the show.

Historically gymnasts have done very well on Dancing with the Stars.  Simone Biles finished 4th.  Shawn Johnson won the coveted Mirror Ball trophy.  Maybe Suni Lee will be the next one to add the mirror ball to her gold medal.

In an interview with USA Today, Suni Lee said she wanted to be on Dancing with the Stars.  It was one of her goals.

"I've seen so many people go out there and do Dancing With the Stars, so it was one of my goals after the Olympics," Lee told USA Today, adding that she watches the competition "whenever there are gymnasts on the show. So I'm excited to see another one."

Lee is starting her freshman year on the Auburn gymnastics team.  I'm sure that all of her teammates will be cheering her on during her time on DWTS.

Another 18 year old pop artist JoJo Siwa will also be on the show.  She will be the first person paired with a same sex pro partner.  No word on who that might be, but some people have said that it's a huge step forward in today's culture and climate.
