he weather is starting to turn warmer and that means a lot of things to people in Minnesota; eventually we will be able to retire the layers of winter clothes we’ve been depending on to keep us warm and alive the last few months.

We’ll also be pulling the boats and lawn mowers out of the winter storage spot and putting the snow blowers and shovels away for a few months.

Something else we get to look forward to is road construction season. Wait, what?

Ok, so maybe we’re not really looking forward to the process of improving or building the road or bridge we use most often, but the work must be done to get us to the end result.

To get us ready for the “road work ahead signs” that will begin to seemingly sprout up overnight in the coming weeks ahead, the Minnesota Department of Transportation put out some valuable information yesterday.

The agency used their twitter account, or X as it is formerly known, asking a simple question, do you know which MnDOT district you live in?

MnDOT offered a link to the map of the state showing the eight districts around the state. They also offer a link to all the projects that are scheduled in your area.

This will be helpful so you can adjust for your morning or afternoon commute or possibly avoid certain areas at certain times.

I don’t really know anyone who enjoys sitting in road construction delays, and this isn’t saying you’ll never have to this year, but we can give you a fighting chance to hopefully avoid the trouble spots around you while progress is taking place.
