Some people consider this time of year as their absolute favorite!  Fall, pumpkin spice, crisp air, changing leaves, and... HALLOWEEN!

HAUNTED ATTRACTIONS

There are several Haunted attractions that will pop up around Central Minnesota every year, and obviously, some are better than others.  The ones that have been going for years are usually the ones that are the best.  And also the ones that people will go to every single year.  It's a tradition.

TRADITION

One of those traditions that people in this area look forward to every year is Molitor's Haunted Acres.  Every year there are new things that show up.  It always is fun and people love that it's not the same thing every year. Besides, if it was the same thing every year, it wouldn't be as fun. You'd be expecting everything which takes some or all of the thrill out of it.

Molitor's Haunted Acres in Sauk Rapids has announced their opening date!

OCTOBER 3rd

This is the date you need to mark on your calendar.  That is, if you want to be one of the first ones to explore this year's haunted acres.

Molitor's created a Facebook event with this description linked to their website:

Deep in the dank, dark woods lives vile creatures that the townsfolk steer clear of. They have poisoned the surrounding lands and cursed anyone who dares enter this horrid place they claim as home.

Just makes you want to get tickets now, right?  That is, if you are someone who "dares" go and see what it's all about.

Tickets will be available online and on site.  There is even a Fast Pass opportunity if you don't want to wait.  Prices are set at $32-$37 for general admission and $65 for the Fast Pass.  There are group rates available too, but you will need to inquire in person for those, on Thursdays and must have a group of at least 24 people.

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
