(R) In this highly anticipated prequel to the original ALIEN film from 1979, visionary director Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Gladiator, Thelma and Louise) returns with another epic space-faring trek.

After discovering an ancient extra-terrestrial 'invitation' at several archeological digs on Earth, a team of scientists and explorers embark on an inter-stellar journey that will test their physical and mental limits. They become stranded, but at the same time, discover the answers to life's ultimate mystery, but it's not without a price. The film stars Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class), Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce and Idris Elba.

The buzz on this film is that it not only ties together with the ALIEN mythology, but will hint at the new Blade Runner film Scott is set to direct.
