Noomi Rapace — Crush of the Day
Hollywood started crushing on Swedish actress Noomi Rapace after her breakout role as hacker heroine Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish film adaptation of ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.’
Rapace reprised the role in two ‘Tattoo’ sequels before heading to the states to co-star in the Guy Ritchie schlock fest ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.’ With that ordeal behind her, Rapace is poised for stardom (or at least the undying worship of fanboys the world over) with a lead role in Ridley Scott’s hotly anticipated sci-fi thriller ‘Prometheus,’ opening June 8.
Rapace plays the gorgeous and brilliant Dr. Elizabeth Shaw in ‘Prometheus.’ If you’ve seen the movie’s trailer (And if you haven’t, well, what the hell are you waiting for?), you’ll recognize her as the redhead slinking about the shadowy spacecraft in her skintight undies, recalling Sigourney Weaver’s famous final showdown with the dual-jawed beastie in Scott’s original 1979 ‘Alien’ flick.
Verizon just released a ‘Prometheus’ viral video featuring Rapace as Dr. Shaw. Stream it below to get a sneak peek at her performance in the film:
Rapace’s Hollywood career is just starting. She’s already landed a leading role in ‘Passion,’ the upcoming erotic thriller from ‘Scarface’ director Brian De Palma, in which she locks lips with Rachel McAdams. (Dear Brian De Palma, this totally makes up for ‘Mission to Mars.’)
