Why Camping In Minnesota Is A Must For Outdoor Fans
Minnesota has few peers when it comes to excellent camping opportunities.
Lawn Love recently ranked all 50 states on things like national park closures, variety of camping activities, number of camping supply stores and natural hazards.
To come up with our ranking, we compared all 50 states based on 5 categories. More specifically, we looked at the acreage of state and national parks, access to campsites and RV parks, and average Hipcamp rates, among 21 total metrics.
Minnesota finished as the tenth-best state for camping.. not bad considering its pretty tough to camp half most of the year!
In fact, Minnesota finished in first place for fewest national park closures and for having the biggest variety of activities at its campgrounds. The Land of 10,000 Lakes also finished favorably in number of camping supply stores (5th) and natural hazards (14th).
TIPS FOR A GREAT CAMPING TRIP
Experts at Lawn Love advise keeping an eye on the weather, making sure that you can handle any terrain at the campsite before reserving your spot, making sure your sleeping arrangement is something you will be comfortable with.
