Seems like lately, there is a day for everything.  I mean everything.  And I even found a website that shows you how to create a "day". Like if you want to create a national day of whatever, that is the place to go.

But today is National Cheesecake Day. And since that is one of my favorite desserts, I am totally on board!  I'm not a huge fan of cake in general, but cheesecake, that is my jam.  I noticed that there are several places that are offering free slices of cheesecake to celebrate the day.  Those places (like the Cheesecake Factory) aren't in this area. But, that doesn't mean that you can't go and get a slice to celebrate at some area restaurants.  Christine's Cheesecakes in Waite Park is a great place to do that.  If you just want a little bit, well, that is available too.  They have mini cheesecakes there.  Or even cheesecake in a cone.

If you prefer to have a meal in one of the area restaurants that offer cheesecake, chances are those are also supplied by Christine's Cheesecakes.  There are so many flavors of cheesecake to choose from as well. One of the great items that is generally for sale in any of the area grocery stores are the variety pack.  Where there is basically about 3-6 different types of cheesecake all rolled into one.  How can you possibly go wrong with that?  I love variety packs.  That way you can try several and figure out which ones you like the best.

Funny thing is this... with all of the love I have for cheesecake, I have never made one myself.  You would think that I would have tried to do that- it doesn't look to be that difficult, but I just haven't done that.  I should.  That's my goal today- or maybe at least in the near future.
