Pizza and Beer. Duh. Brewery Taps into That Combination.

Surly Brewing in Minneapolis announced in September that they were going to be adding pizza to the second level of the brewery.  The time has come, and it is finally opening tomorrow.

This is a combo that has been loved for like forever.  Everyone knows that pizza and beer go together.  It's like peanut butter and jelly, or peas and carrots.  Or whatever combination you like together.  You get the picture.

They have been working on perfecting this pizza, and it's apparently something special that isn't available around "these parts".  It's a "New Haven" style from the East Coast with their own spin. If you aren't familiar with that, it's got the char around the edge, and evidently has some great flavor there.

What's also pretty cool about this is that the pizzas are all named something that relates to a familiar pizza scene from a movie or TV show.  An example, and has to be one of my favorites is the "Spicoli" from Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and the "Walter White" from Breaking Bad.

It's open tomorrow- Friday so take some time, get to Minneapolis and have some beer and 'za.
