In Minnesota we all love our outdoor festivals.  After going through a true Minnesota winter, everyone is ready to be outside as much as possible.  And also hoping for great weather whenever these outdoor events happen.

So when we hear about an annual festival that will not be returning this coming summer, it's kind of a bummer.

The Basilica Block Party has been an annual event for years, except during the pandemic when everything was shut down. Other than that, It's been a fun event. Lots of food vendors, crafts and a ton of music on several stages.

The Block Party did take a hiatus for two years, then returned last year.  This year it will not be happening, and the organizers hope to bring it back for 2026.

From Bring Me the News:

"The 2024 Basilica Block Party at a new venue, Boom Island, was a success on many fronts and garnered great reviews from all who participated," Fr. Daniel Griffith, Pastor and Rector at The Basilica of Saint Mary. In evaluating the event and our learnings, we are considering some new options and looking forward to an even brighter future in 2026. While these options are being evaluated, the Block Party will pause for 2025

There are still several outdoor festivals and shows that will be happening around the area this coming summer.

The Ledge in Waite Park continues to add more and more shows, the Yacht Club festival, which was new last year, will expand to 3 days this year, there is still Lakes Jam, Music by the Mississippi fest will also continue into it's second year this year. There are so many more!  Plenty of opportunities to check out some live music outdoors and some great festivals.
