Enjoy Some Moonlight Skiing This Friday in Waite Park
There are a few things that happen during the winter that I can absolutely get on board with. Things that make the time of winter maybe pass a little bit faster, while actually enjoying some of what a Minnesota winter offers.
This time, if you love cross country skiing, this is going to be a cool twist. Let's go out and ski in the moonlight. Great exercise, great scenery and possibly some family or friend bonding time. Or, maybe you'd like to go by yourself - you do you.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THE MOONLIGHT SKI EVENT
Join Stearns County Parks for a magical moonlight ski at Quarry Park on Friday, January 9 from 5–8 p.m. Enjoy 4.2 miles of lit cross-country ski trails, cozy bonfires throughout the park, and free parking. Warm up with s’mores, cookies, and hot drinks (while supplies last) and enter to win fun raffle prizes. Free ski rentals will be available but limited. If snow conditions are inadequate, the event becomes a moonlit hike, and it will be canceled if windchill reaches –15°F. Don’t miss this beautiful winter night at Quarry Park!
IS THERE A CHANCE OF THE EVENT BEING CANCELLED
There are some factors that could happen where the event would be cancelled. With the forecast looking like mostly cloudy with temperatures in the 20s, we will probably be good to go without a fear of cancellation.
If there wasn't enough snow the event turns into a hiking event, and if the windchill is -15 or lower, the event will be cancelled. Neither of those factors seem to be a question for this Friday. So, let's get out and enjoy some great scenery in Quarry Park.
