Queen Tribute Band – The Crown Jewels – Come To St. Michael
When it comes to musical duos, there are only a handful in the history of popular music that are worth mentioning. Among them Steve Perry and Neal Schon, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, and Eddie Van Halen and Sammy Hagar (yes, I said Sammy Hagar. Not David Lee Roth. Sorry – not sorry.)
But there’s one duo whose chemistry I feel is constantly overlooked. I’m talking about Brian May and Freddie Mercury. Of course, Freddie received most of the praise in Queen, but Brian May deserves his due.
Queen would be nothing without those legendary guitar riffs. Between Freddie’s one of a kind operatic rock vocals and Brian’s flamboyant and adventurous guitar licks, these guys created some of the most legendary sonic atmospheres in the history of rock.
Unfortunately, for obvious reasons the iconic duo will never share the stage. But don’t fret, you can still see all of those awesome tunes performed live if you catch “The Crown Jewels” this fall at the Le Musique Room in St. Michael.
They’re one of the best Queen tributes around, and I don’t say that lightly. Their performance is at 8 pm on October 19th. You can get a ticket online now for as cheap as $29.
