Queensryche Will Perform In Minnesota This Fall
There have been tons of cool progressive rock bands out there over the years: Dream Theater, Mastodon, and Porcupine Tree among others. The genre has taken on a life of it’s own over the past few decades, and there are a couple bands to thank for that.
One of those groups dear reader, is Queensryche. Before bands like Queensryche and Rush came along, prog rock was a rather small movement in the world of radio friendly music. Bands like King Crimson, Yes, and Genesis had a degree of measurable success back in the day, but nothing mainstream like Queensryche.
There's a reason why “Operation: Mindcrime” is hailed as one of the greatest rock albums of all time. It’s a flawless effort from beginning to end. I remember when I was 13 and got my hands on it for the first time. I was nothing short of enthralled with it. The technical skill and musical innovation blew me away, and I’ve been a huge fan of the band ever since.
Fortunately, for myself and other admirers of Queensryche, we’ll get to them perform live at the Grand Casino Hinkley Apmithetre. The show is on Saturday, September 21st at 7:25 pm as part of the Grand Rocktember festival. Tickets are available online now.
