R.I.P Grizzly Adams – Dan Haggerty Dead at Age 74

He was a big part of our childhood, Grizzly Adams and his bear 'Ben'. Dan Haggerty died of cancer today at age 74.

We aren't from the mountains, but we're from Minnesota, and the legend of Paul Bunyan and his Blue Ox 'Babe' helped us get close to the adventures that Grizzly Adams gave us on TV.

Haggerty was born in Minnesota's back yard (Wisconsin), in the small town of Pound, in 1941. Being from the upper Midwest easily made us have an instant attraction to him and his lovable personality as a mountain man on his TV show where he portrayed nature-loving James Capen "Grizzly" Adams.

Another sad death in 2016 to cancer. Just 15-days into this new year, cancer has taken the lives of Lemmy Kilmister (Motorhead), David Bowie (classic rock singer), René Angélil (Celine Dion's hunband/Manager), and Alan Rickman (actor). It's time to put a stop to this terrible disease that takes more lives each year there's no cure.
