On the heels of Van Halen - specifically Edward, Alex, Diamond Dave and Wolfgang - announcing that 2012 would indeed see the release of a new album and  tour, former VH lead singer Sammy Hagar has released a 30 minute documentary chronicling his latest all-start birthday bash in Mexico.

The 2011 festivities took place in Cabo San Lucas over four days (October 7, 9, 11 and 13 — the last night being on Hagar’s actual birthday), featuring some of music’s finest artists who are close with Hagar. Special guests for the celebration for his 64th birthday included the singer’s Chickenfoot bandmates Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and Kenny  Aronoff; country superstar Kenny Chesney; Nickelback‘s lead singer Chad Kroeger; celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse; Food  Network’s chef and TV personality Guy Fieri; and  Vinnie Paul Abbott of Hellyeah and Pantera.

Hagar began to celebrate his birthday at the tourist hot-spot 21 years ago when the cantina officially opened its doors in 1990. Over the years, Hagar’s birthday bash has featured many of his famous friends including Smashmouth, Matt Sorum, Bret Michaels, Kid Rock, Ted Nugent and more.
