SARTELL -- Sartell officials honored four members of the police and fire departments and two teenagers for their life-saving efforts during Monday's council meeting.

Officer Curt Grosz, Firefighters Adam Imholte and Dennis Ertl and teenagers Abigail Trelfa and Madison DeMarais were recognized for their efforts in saving 16-year-old Daniel Fleigle who was electrocuted on the old Sartell Bridge last summer.

Officers were called to the scene by the girls, who started CPR on Fleigle until authorities arrived.

Fleigle began breathing on his own and was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, then to HCMC where he made a full recovery.

Officer Jake Walters was recognized for saving a man's life who overdosed on heroin. Walters responded to the call in LeSauk Township to find the man on the floor with a faint pulse and not breathing.

He gave the man a dose of NARCAN and because of his quick thinking the man is alive today.

The Sartell Police Department would like to congratulate the men and women for their efforts in preventing what could have been potential tragedies.
