See Minnesota’s Spinning Ice Carousel
A WONDER IN ANDOVER
I don't know if any of us are enjoying the temperatures that we are experiencing right now, but I do know that there are creative people all over Minnesota who try to take our minds off the cold and help us focus more on the amazing things that can be done during a Minnesota Winter.
Maybe this should be one of 'The Seven Wonders of Minnesota,' even if it is manmade.
DAN ANDERSON'S ICE CAROUSEL
Dan Anderson has created an Ice Carousel on Crooked Lake. He has been building his Ice Carousel for years in Andover, and it seems like it's become an amazing delight that everyone who lives nearby looks forward to.

THE ICE MASTER 3001
He's created a machine that he's been perfecting over the years called 'The Ice Master 3001," which helps him chisel out the near-perfect circle to become an ice carousel. He has a Welcome Ice Carousel sign greeting people to come to the lake. It's fun to see how they approach the carousel...You simply step on and you are spinning away!
CHAINSAW AND A DREAM
He started with a chainsaw years ago and now has perfected the way the carousel is cut. He makes a first pass and then another. Then, he has a spot where he gets a boat motor in the water and starts the carousel spinning. Once it's spinning, It's my understanding that it keeps spinning all by itself.
