The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for a large portion of central and southern Minnesota until 2:00 am.

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch includes Benton, Kandiyohi, Meeker, Sherburne, Stearns , and Wright Counties (+ more) counties in Central Minnesota.

Large hail, damaging wind gusts, and frequent lightning are possible in and near the watch area this afternoon. A couple of tornadoes are also possible.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight for Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Morrison, and Todd Counties (+ more).
