Slash sure has been chummy with the Brits lately. First he recorded a series for BBC Radio Two, and now he’s been featured on the BBC TV show ‘Top Gear.’

Highbrow publication The Economist describes the series as “an inexplicably popular television program in which three paunchy Englishmen drive slender foreign sportscars,” and while the former Guns N’ Roses guitarist is neither English nor paunchy, he made an appearance in the final episode anyway.

Billed as a “Star in the Reasonably Priced Car,” his segment revealed he loves Aston Martins and — fun fact alert! — leather pants, because “you don’t have to wash them much.” And while he didn’t serve up much speed in the Kia he drove on the track, he apparently did beat Alice Cooper‘s time from a previous show, and that was good enough for him.

When he’s not zipping around the U.K. or swapping spit with giraffes, Slash is prepping for the May release of his second solo album. And this week, he’ll be featured in the ‘Sunset Strip’ documentary premiering Friday at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas.
