Slaughter Featured on 80’s At 8 With ” FlyTo The Angels” [VIDEO]
The band from Las Vegas, Nevada and formed by Mark Slaughter( lead vacals /rhythm guitar) and Dana Strum (bass).
Finally reached the point of stardom with their album, "Stick It ToYa" in 1990, and reached Platinum in the United States.
"Fly To The Angels" reached #19 on the Billboard Top 100 charts for the band.
The band also reached recognition for their hit, "Shout It Out" for the film Bill and Teds Bogus Adventure.
They were set to record their third album in 1994 but the band found troubles in 1993 within when guitarist Tim Kelly was arrested for charges of drug trafficking, while bassist Dana Strum was in a motorcycle accident and injured his playing hand so needless to say that was a set back temporarily.
They did manage to complete the album, "Wild Life" in 1994 with Chrysalis who bought out EMI records and dropped Slaughter ( and Billy Idol, Huey Lewis and The News) from the label.
In 1999 the band did resurface with an album titled, "Back To Reality" with some new players.
The current members are
Mark Slaughter – lead vocals, guitar, keyboards piano
Jeff "Blando" Bland – lead guitar, backing vocals
Dana Strum – bass guitar, backing vocals
Blas Elias – drums, backing vocals
Slaughter performed at Halfway Jam in July 2011, with Cinderella, Skid Row, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot and Firehouse to name a few.
The band is still going strong and tour to this date.
