BUMMER! No More Free Baggage on Airline Out of Minneapolis
Today is the Day! FREE Baggage is ending on a particular airline that flies out of Minneapolis.

BAGGAGE FEES HAVE BEEN HEFTY ON SOME AIRLINES
The baggage fees have been one of those things that we have all come to expect when flighing somewhere for a vacation, business, or whatever the reason for your flight is.
Some of the "budget" airlines will nickel and dime you after you have already paid for your "cheap" ticket. It's gotten so bad that you might as well pay for the better airline and avoid some of those fees. Not all of them, but you can avoid some of them.
CAN YOU AVOID BAGGAGE FEES?
But let's be real. On the more "boujee" flights, you are still paying for your baggage, it's just rolled into the price of your airline ticket. Honestly, I'd rather have that happen then get nickel and dimed when I get there, or pre-pay for your luggage and save a little bit of money doing that.
FLYING BUDGET ISN'T ALWAYS LESS IN THE LONG RUN
Southwest Airlines was the only airline left that still didn't charge you for your checked bags. They also had a seating system that was basically a first come, first served system. That is gone too. You can avoid the baggage fees if you are upgrading your ticket to business class. But then again, you are still paying, it's just included in your ticket price, which is significantly more than a regualr "coach" ticket.
Some of the budget airlines will also charge you for your carry-on and in the case of Spirit Airlines, they will even charge you for a personal item such as a purse! You have to shove that into your carry on or be charged again, or you'll have to check your carry-on. I will not fly that airline ever again. Awful.
Sun Country is still a solid budget airline, but some of their baggage fees have gotten out of control too. I believe their checked bag fee is $59. And you also need to pay for your carry-on, but they do allow you to have a carry-on and a personal item that you don't have to pay for.
MAKE SURE YOU UPGRADE TO AVOID SOME FEES
No more free baggage on any airline anymore. It's a bummer. Or, just fly Delta. If you get at least the upgrade above basic economy, you generally will have your baggage fees rolled in. Otherwise you will pay there too, but your first checked bag is $35.... for now.
