
Riding Season Officially Starts with the Minnesota Flood Run
If you own a motorcycle, or if you used to, you know what it is like when we hit any sort of warm weather here in Minnesota. And there have already been a few days where you have probably either heard, seen, or maybe you are the rider, around the area.
THE ANNUAL MINNESOTA SPRING FLOOD RUN HAPPENING THIS WKND
The annual Minnesota Flood Run is scheduled to happen this weekend, April 24, 25 and 26. The route is from the Twin Cities area, along the Mississippi and St Croix rivers to Winona. This ride is considered one of the top 10 scenic rides in America.
WHERE ARE THE PROCEEDS GOING
The ride is to benefit kids at the Gillette Children's Hospital.
Flood Run happens twice per year.
Spring Flood Run - April 24, 25, 26, 2026
Fall Run - September 19, 20, & 21, 2026
There is also a raffle, and the proceeds go to Gillette Children's Hospital too.

Buy a $10 wristband to support Gillette Children’s Hospital Available at many of our sponsors. (all proceeds go to Gillette) Get your route sheet stamped by at least one business in each section of route to include at least 5 gold star stops to qualify to get your (Gold Star Pin for an extra $10)
After the run, and getting your sheet filled out, drop it off and then the drawings will happen at 6pm. BUT you do NOT have to be present to win. So, if you just want to get home after the ride, that's totally ok.
The Department of Public Safety (Minnesota Motorcycle Safety Center) has some tips that they would also like everyone to follow and be aware of.
- Be prepared for inattentive drivers by staying focused on riding and keeping speed in check.
- Lane splitting is never allowed at more than 25 mph, and no more than 15 mph over the speed of traffic.
- Lane filtering is never allowed at more than 15 mph over the speed of traffic.
- Wear the gear. Motorcyclists should wear a helmet approved by the Department of Transportation and brightly colored protective gear for visibility and protection.
- Ride One-third of all motorcycle fatalities involve impaired riders.
There will also be law enforcement patrolling the route throughout the weekend.
