St. Cloud Among Top-10 Hockey Towns In America

The number-crunchers at SmartAsset.com took on the task of ranking the best hockey towns in America, and when all the math was done it turned out that three of the Top-10 puck-a-licious cities -- including St. Cloud -- are appropriately right here in the State of Hockey. Here's the list:

SmartAsset.com looked at data on fan intensity and quality of life in the 123 U.S. cities or towns that are home to NHL, AHL, ECHL or NCAA Division I hockey teams.

On 8th ranked St. Cloud, SmartAsset.com said:

Stearns County, Minnesota, in which Saint Cloud is located, is home to more than 160 lakes and numerous ponds. It isn’t unusual on a sunny winter day to see hockey players zooming around one of these natural rinks, trying to put the biscuit in the basket. Indeed, over the weekend of January 29^th, Saint Cloud hosted the Granite City Pond Hockey Championship, an outdoor hockey tournament for players of all ages.

St. Cloud jumped 15 spots from #23 in last years rankings to #8 in 2016. In addition to St. Cloud, Mankato, and Bemidji -- all in the Top-10, St. Paul came in at #12, and Duluth came in at #18.
