I'm always about anything that opens up here in th St. Cloud area and it's something worth mentioning and NOT A CHAIN!

Recently it seems that any new restaurant that has opened has been some sort of chain restaurant.  So, you basically know what to expect, so that could be a good thing.  But it's so nice to see more of a "mom and pop" restaurant open.  When we have asked listeners to weigh in on what type of restaurant they would like to see in the St. Cloud area the biggest answer is more of the mom and pop places that are not a chain or franchise.  And now, there is one!

NEW RESTAURANT

St. Cloud has been doing their best to try and change the stigma of the East side of St. Cloud by adding some culture, entertainment venues and now a great little restaurant.

Saturday morning a few of us decided that we would try the new breakfast place on East St Germain that just opened.  It's called the Kitchenette, and it is really pretty amazing. Definitely did NOT disappoint.

MENU

They have a limited menu, but what they have is very good!  And they have a variety of coffee drinks and some others that are soon to come, adding to the variety.

NOSTALGIA

They also offer a few bakery items - the bakery goods come from the Dutch Maid Bakery in Sauk Rapids.  If you remember before their move to Sauk Rapids Dutch Maid Bakery occupied the space that is now the Kitchenette.  So it's great to see that tie in.

THINGS TO KNOW

They do have a small kitchen, so the food can take a bit to come out.  They do tell you that, but do not think that means that the service isn't great.  The staff is very attentive and they make sure you have everything you need, and will check back a few times to make sure everything is what you like and expect.

The coffee drinks are so good, too.  I had the caramel cider drink and it was absolutely amazing.  It tasted like Fall in a Cup.

Definitely recommend the Kitchenette on East St. Germain, St Cloud.
