Crossroads mall has been going through some things for the last few years.  Bankruptcy, a buy out, then new owners.  The new owners have been trying to do their very best to try and bring back the mall as a shopping destination in Central Minnesota.

ARE ALL MALLS DEAD

I know that a lot of people have said that "malls are dead" and that is very true in some states and towns.  But this mall, here in St. Cloud, seems to be trying to climb out of what was rather dismal a few years ago.  Even if youi think that Crossroads is "dead" you might not have heard from people who live elsewhere.  I have heard compared to a lot of other malls, this one is "booming".  So, that kind of tells you something.

NEW ADDITIONS

There have been some new additions to Crossroads Center.  The addition of a gym was great.  Plus, the other stores that have only outdoor entrances that took over the former Sears location have been really good.

A few days ago we were walking though the mall, and noticing that the wing closest to Target has a lot of vacancies.  Including some stores that seem to have closed within the last couple of weeks. But also noticing that another store had opened up recently.

NEW STORE

89th & Madison opened recently, and is located near Games by James on the East side of the mall.

89th & Madison offers attainable high-quality, fashion-forward essentials inspired by the women of today—designed to empower. Our versatile, on-trend pieces are made to last and move with you, taking you seamlessly from 9am to 9pm in style.

If you are someone who is looking for that type of clothing, this is the store for you.  Something that isn't too fancy, and also not something that is too trendy.  Perfect for working women of a certain age, or taste.

OTHER EVENTS

There are also a lot of events that are happening in the near future at the mall, with the closest one coming for Halloween.  Mall-O-Ween happens on Halloween, October 31st from 4 to 7pm.

Bring the family and enjoy a fun-filled evening of Halloween activities, including:

Trick-or-Treating at participating stores

Pumpkin Painting

Balloon Twisting

Face Painting

…and so much more!
