St. Cloud Man Arrested in Alleged Knife Assault [VIDEO]

ST. CLOUD -- Police responded to a knife complaint in South St. Cloud Thursday morning.

The incident happened at about 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of 7th Street and 9th Avenue South. Police say 22-year-old Niles Torkkola, of St. Cloud, was arguing with a woman, 66-year-old Linda Weller of St. Cloud.

When Weller's husband try to intervene, Torkkola took a knife from Weller and threaten to stab her husband. The victim tried to take back the knife from Torkkola, who used it against the man cutting his thumb.

Torkkola was arrested and taken to the Stearns County Jail. He faces charges of 2nd degree assault.
