ST. CLOUD -- Receiving your degree is a highlight for any college student and for the family of Jesse Dady they got to witness this occasion  Friday morning.

Dady was a junior as St. Cloud State University who coined a 4.0 GPA, while majoring in biochemistry.

SCSU President Ashish Vaidya says the degree was a fitting honor for Dady.

"This should have been an occasion either this year or next year for Jesse to have walked across the stage," says Vaidya.

With a heavy heart Jesse's father, David Dady, couldn't thank the university enough for all they have done.

"St. Cloud did everything perfect. The university did everything right. I just want to thank everyone for everything they have done, it means a lot," says Dady.

Dady went missing from downtown St. Cloud on March 25th and his body was found in the Mississippi River six days later.
