How exciting is it to hear when one of our local athletes gets an invitation to talk to a professional team, whether it be hockey, basketball, football or other sports? I can't imagine what it takes to become the kind of athlete professional organizations notice. One thing is for sure. It takes an extreme work ethic, and a never-give-up spirit to grow and become better and better year after year. One young man from Minnesota is getting that opportunity, and he's a Johnny!

A former Saint John's University student has been asked to participate at the Seattle Seahawks rookie minicamp happening this weekend, May 3rd through May 6th, at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center, the Seahawks practice location, which is located in Renton, Washinton.

Alex Larson, from East Ridge High School in Woodbury, Minnesota, where he played football for head coach Dan Fritze, was a St. John's University student and played tight end for the Johnnies. Alex is the son of Gregg and Kristie Larson and is a Communications Major. Alex graduated from high school at East Ridge High School in 2019.

Alex, who is 6' 7 and plays Tight End,  was invited to join the Seahawks for the weekend event, after the NFL Draft on Saturday, April 27th.
