Here we go!  Masks.  Been really a subject of controversy.  Should you?  Shouldn't you?  There are so many people saying that the idea of a mask is complete bunk.  And on the other side, there are so many people saying that you need to wear a mask because otherwise you are a completely selfish person.  The mask is to protect other people, not you...so that is where that comes from.

Anyhoo... whether you on the side of wear one or don't wear one, businesses are continuing to push for mask wearing.  They will usually  post a sign at the door that will say something like "masks required" or "no mask, no service" kind of playing off of the "no shoes, no shirt, no service" tagline.

Starbucks has now joining stores like Menards and Costco in the ranks of mask wearers.  Beginning July 15, everyone will be required to wear a mask.  This includes employees (they already are) and customers.  This is only if you go IN a Starbucks to order you coffee and/or snacks.  If you don't want to wear one, there is still the drive through option where a mask is not required.

Some people, mostly retail owners, were hoping for a state-wide mask mandate.  From what Governor Walz has said he's not going to do that as a blanket requirement.  Sounds like he may just do it where the hot spots in the state are occurring.  Basically that would eliminate Northern Minnesota.  The coronavirus cases haven't been too drastic in that area of the state.  If this is the route that will be taken here in Minnesota, it would probably be in the more populated areas...which makes sense.

Stay tuned for more information on that front.
