We are all going to miss the state fair this year.  It's a bummer.  This pandemic has pretty much put everything on hold.  Not a fan.  I'm sure no one is, and this whole year is what I call the "Year of Nothing".

One of the best things about the fair...and there are a lot of "best things" is the flavored beer that is normally only available during the 12 days of the  Minnesota State Fair.  But, this year,  because the fair has been cancelled, the unique flavors of beer will be available at several of the breweries in the area.

These are not just beers, there are also ciders, which I really like in the Summer months.  They seem to be more refreshing.  But both beer and cider will be available.  Here are some of the examples of the  flavors you can experience and where they will be located:

Chocolate Chip Cookie Beer – Andy’s Grille
Big Wood Brewery
2222 4th St., White Bear Lake, MN 55110
bigwoodbrewery.com
Serving Aug. 15 through Sept. 7

Key Lime Pie – Café Caribe
Lift Bridge Brewing Company
1900 Tower Dr. W.,  Stillwater, MN 55082
liftbridgebrewery.com
Serving Aug. 27 through Sept. 7

Raspberry Hard Cider – Giggles’ Campfire Grill
Sociable Cider Werks
1500 Fillmore St. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413
sociablecider.com
Serving Aug. 1 through Sept. 7

Giggles' Campfire Grill has a few of the available flavors.  There are more breweries on the list.  This might be the perfect  opportunity to take a day and just do a brewery tour.  Most places have some outdoor seating, now and it's a great excuse to enjoy the Minnesota summer and some delicious brews.  And with the extended time that they are available, there are plenty of opportunities to do that.

The fair is also requesting that if you do decide to enjoy these beers and ciders, snap a pic and share it and tag #mnstatefair.

This whole year is looking different than any other we have experienced, but there are some simple pleasures that we can still do in some form.
