MELROSE -- A central Minnesota electric company is lending a helping hand to Florida after the state was hit by Hurricane Irma.

Stearns Electric Association sent two line workers, Eric Meyer of St. Joseph and Wayne Senst of Melrose, Sunday to Suwannee Valley Co-op in Live Oak, Florida to help Florida crews get the power back on in that area.

Meyer and Senst are two of 14 line workers on their way to Florida. All are expected to arrive Tuesday.

Our state's crews are expected to be in Florida for one - two weeks.
